As we were unable to view the physical product at their showroom, we decided to buy the Janvier Solid Wood Bed Frame from their online store since the general quality of BedandBasics seemed to be fine. However, to our extreme disappointment, upon delivery, we observed that the quality of finishing was extremely poor.
We did not observe it initially, but once we observed it in greater detail, we noticed numerous quality issues -- poor finishing, nuts sticking out from the back the frame, metal framing, and wooden planks below the bed frame were of poor quality, among others. Most of the issues were below the hood.
I highlighted this immediately to BedandBasics once the delivery team had left, and they noted they are not able to replace or refund as their policy states that once it is fixed and I have signed the acknowledgement it is in good condition, it will not be replaced. I had tried to highlight that those issues were not immediately evident, and I in fact called soon after the delivery persons have left. However, after numerous back-and-forth discussions, the only offer was to replace the parts that had issues. I had emphasised that it is an overall QC and finishing issue and not specific parts alone. They eventually offered to replace the whole set, though I noted it would make no difference. As expected, the replacement had that quality issues, and some were even worst than before.
It is important to take note that the image on the site could be deceiving, and it is important to check closely for quality issues when it is delivered.
The one major saving grace is the diligent support by Alvian who followed up closely throughout the process and was helpful, and the reason I didn't give the minimum rating. However, there doesn't seem to be much Alvian could do.
I have to thank Alvian for the support and constant updates, else it would have been an even worse nightmare.
